Shout Out to the Old School: Tattooist John Anderson

At our Waikiki Tattoo Parlor, the award-winning 434 Tattoo, we like to remember the roots of the tattoo industry.  Call it nostalgia, paying respect to those who paved the way, it’s something that we do and value.  In an age where traditions seem to be getting the newest iThing once a year, we think it’s important to recognize tradition.  With that, this is another shout out to the Old Skool Tattoo!

Recently, we were honored to be visited by John Anderson, a tattooist from The Pike in California.  John talked stories with the 434 Crew about the old days.  It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear first hand about the life of an Old Schooler.  From Ed Hardy, jail, guns, dynamite, women, and fake mustaches, we just about covered it all.

And in an interesting bit of synchronicity, Tattoo Adam and Mr. Anderson were both tattooed by one of the same artists that Tattoo Adam paid his own dues with, Creeper!

Thanks John for stopping by!  And for all of you out there, it’s time you stop by where the legends, the famous, the champions, and more come to get some tattoo nostalgia, world class ink, and more.  We are open 7 days a week from 10a-10p and offer free consultations and the best Hawaii Tattoo Discounts around.
