434 Tattoo has a collective of tattoo artists led by Owner, Tattoo Adam, who has two decades of experience tattooing customers from all over the world.  Our tattooists  have tattooed people from all walks of life and have a growing list of celebrities getting tattooed including T-Pain, who was worked on by Marko Livingston, and the infamous, “Iron” Mike Tyson, who received a tattoo from Adam himself!

We also have the only two survivors of Tattoo Adamʻs old school style of apprenticeship, which he learned growing up in Milwaukee and led him to tattoo in Las Vegas and now here in Hawaii.

APEC Aftermath: Back to Tattoos in Honolulu

It’s still too early to tell whether or not the presence of APEC in Honolulu was a boon or a bust.  Many local businesses outside of Waikiki did not see much of a difference in their clientele base.  But now that APEC is in the rear view mirror, we can get back to business!!!

At 434 Tattoo,  our Waikiki Tattoo Studio, we specialize in the custom tattoo.  Our tattooists can do just about any tattoo out there (although there are some places an artist won’t go…) from thousands of Tattoo Flash designs to choose along the walls to putting together a custom piece based on an idea, picture or theme you have.

Interesting Tattoo Story

Earlier this week, an older gentlemen stopped in to get a tattoo.  Little did we know…

As we reported previously in discussing Hawaii Tattoo Laws, Facial Tattoos weren’t always so easy to get and people needed a Doctor’s Note for such a thing (and one for Hand Tattoos as well).  In the past, we also discussed some of the challenges people can face when getting a face tattoo, but at this stage in the game, we’re guessing he’s not so worried about that.  (Note: Marko did not tattoo the guy.  “He asked for four letters on his forehead. I didn’t ask which letters…” ~Marko  “Rule of thumb amongst tattoo artists is to not tattoo someone’s neck, face or hands if there are no visible tattoos.”  ~Tattoo Adam)

From Milwaukee To Las Vegas To Tattoolicious?

Did you know that Tattoo Adam got his start as an apprentice in Milwaukee?  While there his apprenticeship was old school and included mixing drinks with Crown for the Bikers who owned the place.

Then he made his way to Sin City aka Las Vegas, where he learned the arts of the carneys working there, and was the top pick of all the tattooists there and was selected by “Iron” Mike Tyson to ink a custom tiger tattoo on the boxing champ.

Finally, he touched down and became a 808 tattoo artist where he helped put the walls up at Waikiki Tattoo Shop Tattoolicious and also helped Sugarbox gain some fame, before realizing his dream of owning a Honolulu tattoo parlor, 434 Tattoo.

How to Tattoo Video Series: Consultations and Stencils

Greetings Tattoolings from 434 Tattoo, your number one destination for a Custom Tattoo or Polynesian Tattoo in Hawaii.  Our Waikiki Tattoo Shop is conveniently located in the heart of Honolulu between Oahu’s famed Waikiki Beach and Ala Moana Shopping Center and Beach Park.

In this segment of our How to Tattoo Videos, we watch as Tattoo Adam explains a key part that goes into the consultation (all of which are free at our Waikiki Tattoo Studio) and shows us how he comes up with the artwork for the Tattoo Stencil.
