Tattoo Removal in Hawaii

shot_1318535588028

We prefer to put the ink on people at our Hawaii Custom Tattoos Studio and strive to assist our customers in making informed decisions that they can be happy with for the rest of their lives.  That doesn’t mean people have regrets from time to time…

It appears that Supermodel Heidi Klum is getting a Seal tattooed removed.   Klum and the singer were married with children for years before splitting up in the past year and it appears that she now wants to erase the tattoo of her former lover’s name on her forearm.

Earlier in the year, Tattoo Adam, had a taste of tattoo removal so that he could continue working on a tattoo being done by the Japanese Tattoo Artist Horiyoshi III!  Read all about Adam’s adventure with Laser Tattoo Removal in Hawaii!

The Team at Way Gone Laser Tattoo Removal, located in Kaka’ako, has the latest in technology to make the process as painless and efficient as possible.  It is practice to get multiple trips in order to get the tattoo removed as completely as possible and having the best technology and equipment.

As noted earlier, we specialize in putting on Hawaiian Tattoos and pretty much every style of tattoo, so come on down to our Waikiki Tattoo studio, 434 Tattoo, where we’ll be happy to serve you.  We also use the best in equipment and latest in tattoo techniques so you never have to worry!

What to do on Oahuʻs South Shore!

Aloha and welcome to another fun update from our Hawaii Custom Tattoos shop, 434 Tattoo!

IMG_20120819_124106

Our Waikiki Tattoo parlor is located in the Heart of Honolulu just on the cusp of the famous Ala Moana and Waikiki areas on the Southern Shore of Oahu.  Our team is led by Tattoo Adam, who owns the shop and has been doing custom tattooing for over 2 decades in multiple tattoo shops in three different states and also in traveling all around the world.  Our team also features Hawaii Tattoo Artist Andy Burley and will soon be joined by Kazan, currently at Tiki Tattoo, which is closing soon.  We also have a family member, Karl ʻDoubledownʻ Juthans on ʻsabbaticalʻ and an adventure in his Native land of Canada.

All of our team members are Licensed Hawaii Tattooists by the State of Hawaii Department of Heath.  We strive to practice the most up to date and healthiest standards in tattooing.  We also engage elements of the industry in various ways to improve our work in the trade.  Tattoo Adam will be going to get some work done in Japan from the Japanese Tattoo Master, Horiyoshi III.

“You learn each time you get to watch someone practice his artwork.” Adam commented about Horiyoshi and his experience recently.

Some tips for visitors to Hawaii is to wear sunscreen!  “The sun is the enemy to your tattoos.” Adam remarks.  And you might want to consider getting inked on your last night because youʻre not going to want to go into the water.

“The ocean is home to millions of micro-organisms and your new piece can get infected because the skin is not healed.”

Whatever you choose to do when visiting Oahuʻs South Shore, feel free to stop by and say hello!  Our shop has won Honoluluʻs Best Custom Tattooing Studio for four years in a row, we are home to some of the Best tattoo artists in Hawaii, and Tattoo Adam himself was recently recognized for his service, having been in business for over 20 years.

Youʻll be in good hands!  Just ask the Dude getting work done above.  Andre/Julio/Jordan, a man of many names found us around this time last year off the web and ended up coming back throughout the year for over 20 different tattoos!

Must be something about that 434 Custom Tattoo

Recently Tattoo Adam made his way to Yokohama, Japan, to get work done on himself by legendary Japanese Tattoo Artist, Horiyoshi III. The picture above shows Adam as he is going through the experience of getting tattooed himself while there.

“The way I see it, if you dish out that kind of pain, you have to be able to understand it yourself.” He remarks as we go through the process, watching sped-up versions of the experience in Adam’s Waikiki Tattoo Studio, 434 Tattoo.  A total of six sessions later and we have an image that Horiyoshi III drew up in the past that Adam wished to add to the piece.

“My goal this year is to be suited.” Adam comments as he enters his 22nd year in the tattoo industry.  “The fourth session was the most intense.” He says going back to the tattoo session with Horiyoshi.  “He went over the same place.”  He points to the fine details of the figure’s hair that Horiyoshi  created on his torso.

“You learn more and more the correct approach on how to do a big tattoo.”  He says with a reverence for the Master Tattooist and Teacher.  To this day, Horiyoshi spends time drawing and painting, ever perfecting a craft that he is already considered one-of-a-kind and a true Legend.

When asked how he learned of Horiyoshi’s work, Adam replied, “I saw his work in of a magazine while still an apprentice in Milwaukee.”  Adam later sought out the Japanese Tattooist and the rest as they say, is history…

WTF Wednesday: Donald Trumpʻs Video to the President

We have our opinions about politics and government that donʻt much relate to Hawaii custom tattoos but this video released by Donald Trump addressing President Obama embodies both politics and the WTF Wednesday started recently here at our Waikiki Tattoo Parlor.

Enjoy! Shake your fist! Weʻre not going to say or promote Anarchy. Weʻll just pose the question: As ridiculous as it was in the first place, wasnʻt it enough that El President released the forms before?

And in other political tattoos…

This New Yorker Mitt Romney tattoo cover, was released recently in the vein of legendary artist Norman Rockwellʻs work, and alludes to the Republican nominee Romneyʻs shifting political views:

Would you call that a political or a tattoo cover-up?  Is this tattoo-gate?

We are 434 Tattoo, we are located in Honolulu, Hawaii at 434 Ena Rd and we are here to give you the best in Hawaii custom tattoo service!  Owner Tattoo Adam and artist Karl Juthans are here to help you get the best tattoo designs in Hawaii at our award-winning Waikiki Tattoo studio, open 7 days a week.  Where politicians claim to serve, we are really here to serve you!

New(s) Tattoos: Tattoo Removal or Cover-Up?

We love our tattoos and to create custom tattoos for all of our clientele from around the world who visit our tattoo shop in Waikiki.  At 434 Tattoo, we also offer free consultations on all pieces in order to guide the customer through the process in choosing a piece that they can be happy with wearing with for the rest of their life.

According to a recently published study on tattoos , about 50% of people who get a tattoo (while they are young), end up getting it removed via laser removal.  The findings also showed that not everyone who undergoes the laser tattoo removal procedure gets great results from the process.

While we hope the client has a piece that lasts and is awesome for life, we understand that circumstances can allow us change and pursue different interests, beliefs, and so on in regards to our body.  We are also only human and make mistakes.

But life is about living and learning, just because something changes, it does not mean that something beautiful canʻt take its place in our lives or in the world of tattoos, on our bodies…

Check out this Polynesian Tattoo piece recently worked on by Tattoo Adam:

It says ʻAfterʻ because this was completed here as a tattoo cover-up in Hawaii.  The original piece can be seen below:

Unless you saw the original, youʻd never know, huh? The old tattoo represented a piece of this gentlemenʻs past that is in the past so he chose to move into the new with a new tattoo.

There are many different ways to evolve, change, or remove tattoos.  If youʻre thinking about doing something to a piece that you are not happy with, why not consider a cover-up?

We are more than happy to assist you in your Ink Journey and go over all the options that you have so that you can have something that you love!

A Special Thank you to Marlena Mastromarino for submitting and creating these pictures!

Tattoo Time in Hawaii

It’s the opinion of our Hawaii tattoo studio, 434 Tattoo, that any day is a good day to get tattooed.  It’s kind of like that old Indian saying: Today’s a good day to die…

Well today is custom tattoo time, particularly this season because it’s traditionally a little slower.  This is the time to stop by and get more time to sit with an artist to discuss and map out a bigger piece, we’re talking Full Arm sleeve tattoos, tattoo bodysuits, you name it, the bigger, the better!

At our Waikiki tattoo parlor, we offer free consultations, a clean, professional setting, State of Hawaii Department of Health Certified environment, and we use state of the art autoclave sterilization techniques to cleanse our equipment.  That’s autoclave, not autotune, though we have tattooed autotune Grammy Rapper T-Pain.

So why wait? Come on down to and join the 434 Tattoo alumni today!  With T-Pain, Mike Tyson, and many others, you’ll be in great company!
